If someone says they love you, this is nice and stuff, for sure,
But when it comes to follow through, what do they do,
Do they make you their priority, when you are making them your world,
Or are you simply their convenience, when skies are blue;
If someone says they love you, what do they do when you are hurting,
Are they there for you like you are there for them;
Or do they turn on you with anger, like you are blaming them for something;
Because of guilt, misguided stuff, or selfish whim;
If someone says they love you, what do they do to share the load,
Do they give to you the way you give to them,
Or do they want to call it quits, if you want them to do their part,
And mostly take from you, and then just throw away your heart;
If someone says they love you, what are they investing in your future,
The future plans you made together for your life;
Are they enjoying all the benefits, without contributing to tomorrow,
Will they just dump you, when you’ve been giving them your life;
If someone says they love you, and you tell them how you’re hurting,
And that you feel so bad you really want to die,
They read your message, and then don’t call you, or even message you or something,
When they’re the ones who broke your heart and made you cry.
