“She danced. She sang. She took. She gave. She loved. She created. She dissented. She enlivened. She saw. She grew. She sweated. She changed. She learned. She laughed. She shed her skin. She bled on the pages of her days, she walked through walls, she lived with intention.”
Thundering waves crashing against the cliffsides, torrential rains quenching the thirsty earth, soaring winds caressing the blushing landscape, fragrant flowers finding fulness in our girth; while wrapping my Christmas present in the naturalness of mirrored celebration. When tuning in to the magnificence all around me, its acquiescent ardor and desire; I am reminded, through its reflection, of the vastness of the beauty, bliss, and magic held within. And within me, around me, and running through me; adding joy and inspiration to all things, is the sweetness of my sultry soul companion; and the higher light and love her presence brings.
“We were together. I forget the rest.” Walt Whitman
Celebrate this day, this choice, this moment, as if it is the last one, the only one, the enduring one. And if you are blessed enough to have discovered the spiritual bond of your soul’s companion, and the supernatural love flowing from it, show them how much you really care, how important they are to you, what you are willing to do for them, and how much you need them there. You may not get another chance.
“I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You game me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”
Celebrate the Emotions Your Spirit Brings You
Serving as the link between higher consciousness and what we can perceive with our minds, our spirit, or true nature, shines the light of truth upon our lives. Within this truth glimmers the radiance of spiritual awareness, including perceptions of love, joy, and peace; by contrast to the situational surges generated by our minds. Holding on to the truth of these emotions, regardless of our life circumstances; and openly expressing them to the ones we feel them for, will empower the fulfillment of our purpose, release our tension, and bring to us, and those around us, so much more. According to Ayurveda, “emotions promote the evolution of consciousness throughout the body; they are linked to movement and fluidity; and they help the body release tension because it requires energy to repress emotions and so when emotions are released tension is relieved.”
Celebrate by Overcoming the Destructive Pattern of Withholding Emotion
When people withhold the natural expression of their true emotion, it hurts them, as well as those they are withholding from. Madisyn Taylor writes “Emotional pain is at the root of our tendency to withhold, and withholding causes pain to the people subjected to it. It is a dysfunctional pattern that creates a breakdown in communication and understanding.” She goes on to say “No one deserves to be subjected to withholding. Feeling ignored, disrespected, or shut out, and to not know why, is a terrible feeling. The first thing to remember if this is happening to you is that you are not to blame. You are caught in someone else’s pain pattern. This person does not know how to express feelings in a healthy way probably because this is what they learned when she or he was a child. The second helpful thing to remember is that the withholder is acting out of pain. They are stuck in a habitual mode of response that is self-defeating and alienating to the people they love. Remembering this will help you feel compassion for the person hurting you.”
So celebrate your spirit by learning how to openly express the truth of its emotion. Give yourself the gift of truth this holiday season.
